With Valentine’s Day fast approaching girls are often left wondering what they have to do get a real man interested in them.Especially, the Y-generation.
Loath it, even call it Hollywood driven hype, there’s a lot of pressure in being seen with the right guy.
Guy’s just think differently. So we set out to find out what the young bucks really think about girls.
Now look girls, there’s plenty of evidence that men and women mistake friendliness for flirting- and the other way round. So forgive these teenage guys for not knowing as much about you as he thinks jhe does.
Why do girls think that because I called her, I want to be her girlfriend?
Call it what you like ladies, but it seems the guys feel the pressure when they are on the phone.
For the guys its just a phone call – perhaps they think your cute. If they get to know you then maybe it may lead further.
Whatever you think of the reaction, jus don’t want to be treated as if they have just admitted undying love to a girl.
Some expect either to be treated as if the girl has something over them, or, that if she is shy she may suddenly feel uncomfortable around him.
Guys don’t seem to relate well to emotional games.
Why do girls think they have to wear all that make up?
Yes, they think you look prettier without it – or at least a subdued amount of it.
A British surveys said the same thing – although I do wonder if what a man thinks about the make up – and if his immediate gut level hormone drenched reaction may still secretly like it.
Guys make know secret that they like pretty girls, but then they also like super models and most admit as much as it would stroke there ego to bed one, they don’t want to settle down with her.
The clay face look is not just disliked by guys – they hate it. It may look OK on a model – but that’s an image, and just like most dresses on the cakewalk, its not great in the real world.
Silly giggling is so embarrassing
There are plenty of guys who like that cute giggle, sweet and endearing like in a Bollywood movie.
“But, every second thing they say is OMG!’ with that girly dance and jumping around. Do girls do it, just do be noticed and show other girls they are happy?’ asked Greg.
(Perhaps you girls can tell him the answer. However, girls do like to be able to show that their guy treats them special – so much so they even write poems that the claim were made by their lover).
Some other guys are less sympathetic. Being raised to be tough, I’ts all to easy for some guys, to think female emotions are stupid.
I hope they grow up to find their sensitive soul or we can pity a future wife. But then, a lot of the guys we talked to, still in their teens, are still learning to handle their own emotions.
However, Graham had a valid complaint.
”Just because the guy you liked didn’t pick you for something doesn’t mean you should go and ball your eyes out!”
Girls are always passing notes in class and whispering – it’s dumb
Actually, Jake called it rude. He was quick to point out that girls don’t like it if there guy doesn’t pay them attention
.
“If you’re rude to a girl, she tells you off, so why can they gossip, pass note in class, and whisper behind your back? That’s a double standard.”
The psychologist Jung would have probably say they were projecting their shadow side onto you.
“Don’t they realize how cheap they sound when they trash another girl?” said Glen. “I want to have a girl that I will treat as special.”
“Don’t girls want to be treated as special? They say they do – so why do they act cheap? How can I respect a girl like that?”he asked.
Most of the guys we asked admitted that everyone talks about other people.
What they hated was the total character assassination that goes on amongst girls.
Guys do care about how they look
While girls may not realize it, guys do care.
Skin for example, especially pimples can annoy some of the guys.
Others, have body mage issues. After all, they hear the message that you need a six pack, or great pecks to pick up a girl.
It just seems they like to be subtle about it. Some even get annoyed when their girl doesn’t note ice their efforts.
If you want to get him to fdrss up, praise his efforts and see what happens.
Tight Clothes Look Cheap
Sure, Heidi Klum can pull it off – but what does she wear in real life?
The guys admit a bit of flirtatiousness, but it can go too far. It seems that the guys we asked wanted a sense of balance.
“If you have great legs, wear a short skirt, but don’t you don’t need to wear a bikini top with it” said Chris. “If you have a great flat tummy, wear a midriff with a full length skirt.”
Whether Chris, is a fashion expert I don’t know – but he struck me as being a calm balanced type.
According to Chris, girls seem to believe the message that to get a guy you wear almost nothing or have so much makeup on it looks like camouflage.
Brad is even more blunt:
“Going over the top, makes you look cheap, insecure and uncomfortable” he said.
PMS is no excuse
Hmm… now is this just a case of guys being insensitive?
It’s not that guys don’t realize it’s a n emotional time – they just don’t like being treated like an enemy.
Of course, no matter how sympathetic he is he simply does not feel the pain of a bloated belly and serious cramps.
However, it simply is not cool to attack a guy who could be your best ally in times of discomfort.
Perhaps there was something in the way the ladies rested up in the olden days.
Recognize that you need to avoid caffeine, greasy food and sugar and rest up, drink lots of water, and enjoy a relaxing warm bubble bath to wind down.
Why not? Relaxing is far more enjoyable than spitting the dummy anyway.
If you want to go out fine – but why go out if you will feel miserable just because others think you should?
Listen to your body and enjoy your life.
Does he really care if you look kike this?
I can’t stand it when a girl asks me if she looks fat
This is one of those topics that so frustrated the guys.
So you have a different shap[e to Jessica Alba or Rihanna?
So what?
Guys do not want to listen to your spilling out all your body insecurities.
Now, guys can have them too, and some do have hang ups about a girls weight.
However, there are as many different tastes in girls as there are guys.
“When a girl asks you if she looks fat it’s as bad as when she asks if she is wearing the right dress” said Darren.
I admit I looked a bit puzzled at the connection so he explained.
“A girl is wearing a dress, and is holding another. She asks you which one looks better” he said. “There’s only one right answer. The dress she’s in.”
“Unless you’re a fashion guru you shut t up. It’s the same with weigh he said, unless it’s a serious problem anything but total acceptance will hurt her feelings.”
Darren hates choosing not to hurt her feeling, or having to lie.
Guys do want Miss Right
It seems that these guys do want to find someone special but in typical guy fashion they don’t need to be on the phone about every girl they meet.
Now on this point some guys had ideas about girl behavior that is well, lfrom a female mind abit over the top , even wrong.
To the mind of some boys, it looks like she needs a guy – any guy.
At least that’s what they said.
Perhaps pulling back a bit around the guys may be a solution.
The problem is perhaps that girls value the attention that feminine mystery can muster.
If he takes the time to listen to the little clues you give him, then he shows he values you.
However, until a guy is sure about you why will he try and prove he values you with all that listening in the first place?
This leads to the final point
If you like him – tell him
The guys seem to think they have it worked out – that they can tell when she’s just flirting or when she really like him.
(Most girls said that was rubbish – but then we can let them think they know).
Actually, there is plenty of research to show that both men and women confuse sexual and friendship signals.
Perhaps boys are just deluding themselves, but since they think you need a guy – any guy – then you as soon as you start smiling at him he thinks you want him for a boyfriend.
It may not have the romantic appeal of a Hollywood movie, but the guys said it’s has a better chance of working.
