Perhaps it is the most perfect, sweet and innocent longing to merge soul to soul. The intimate touch of oneness, the flow of love, that turns now into forever and life becomes as tranquil as prayer.
That deepest calling, felt by some as a link between the devoted and devotee, mother and child, love and beloved draws on our deepest need – the desire to merge.
Yet, to attract our soul mate we must become like the person we desire, wakening to their inner truth and the power of our soul.
Yet as much as we long for our soulmate we hardly dare reach beyond our fear bound ego.
Yet we spend so much time defending ourselves, and blocking other from coming to close that we block the compelling pleasurable we most yearn for.
All too often we allow society to dictate how we “should” feel and forget to look into ourselves.
We seem bent on defending our identity and forget that greater pleasure come from the sharing of two complete souls merged as one. Able to act independently but empowering each other by the fear free enlightened choice love.
True love is ego free. Egoistic love is as illusionary as the ego itself – a nonexistent façade that we have empowered to control our lives. A projection made to give our self some perspective in the confines of space, time and society. An illusion based on our past and designed to compare us to the ‘other.’
The illusion is fragile – seeking constantly seeking reinforcement, panicking if it is court out as the non entity it really is. It fights for survival as strongly as your body fights for life. So we hang onto our ego and ignore that it is as changeable as an ocean in the wind.
To attract our beloved we must see beyond the futility of submitting to our changeable ego and train it to recognize and align itself with our authentic self. This may require an honest cataloguing of our illusions.

Yet our very desire to merge with someone is an ego desire – so how can we ever hope to attract the beloved?
Imagine that you are as poor as a church mouse and meet an old school friend. This rich friend gives you a beautiful meal with everything she knows you love.
Lustily you plunge into the first course and suddenly realize that your friend is not eating. She is simply enjoying you eat!
Suddenly you feel uncomfortable, almost ashamed. You stop eating and then see she feels hurt.
She explains her greatest pleasure is in giving to you – yet you feel unworthy being so poor you have nothing to give.
Then you realize that you are in fact in a position of control. You can choose to eat the meal because you enjoy seeing her smile. In fact, you can consciously enjoy the pleasure on her face as you eat with her – inviting her to share the food together.
In the same way, we cannot give back anything to the omnipresent divinity behind our universe – except the desire to share. We then use our ego to empower a giving, spiritual life.
If we have that same desire to share with our soul mate then we will be able to align our intention with the Universe and attract our beloved.
When we learn to serve then we will attract the beloved whom we will serve.
No doubt past failures have burned out many bad habits. There is someone out there for you – and all the dramas of your past are energetically preparing for the two of you to meet.
Jewish tradition states that before birth you and your soul mate were one and the male and female aspects of your divinity are sent to earth to rediscover each other and make this world a home for God.
To attract the other part of yourself, your beloved must be as real to you as if she were standing before you.
Evoke the beloved by writing poetry to her, speak out loud to her, and discuss your problems with your beloved and listen to your intuitive response. Learn to listen to your little voice and intensify your love at every opportunity.
It can also help attract your desires. So bring yourself to a relaxed state and see her clearly.
A number of Law of Attraction specialists state that if you can think of what you desire with total focused intention for 17 seconds (and that is not as easy as it seems) you enter your intention in the cosmic field.
This can be enhanced by a meditative alpha state. So instead of mediating infront of aa candle, stare at a mental image of your soul mate.
But here again we must watch the ego. Do I hide out in my meditation addicted to the tranquility and never learning to relate to the real world?
The reason you are in a human body is to have a human experience.
Meditation and religious ecstasy is not an end in itself it is a means to receive divine light so that you can give out in the world. So seek a empowering relationship celebrates your love in service.
To attract your soul mate your intentions and lifestyle must be congruent.
Are you congruent if on the one hand you seek a soul mate while chasing casual sexual encounters?
If you knew that beyond doubt your beloved was turning up next Monday would you be sleeping around in the meantime?
By all means follow you intuition. If you’re intuition tells you to join a dating site then it may work. However, if you go into dating with a casual intention you will get casual results.
Instead make your home a sanctuary of love. Put an ‘altar’ in the room with masculine or feminine symbols depending on whether you seek a man or a woman. Put romantic images in your bedroom. Make your home a home your lover would want to live in.
Pray for her – give thanks for her having arrived; and pray for the healing of your heart – so that you may be open to giving and sharing love.
Make friends with yourself and enjoy the journey, because the moment you are truly happy with yourself is when she will appear. By awakening to our true nature and fully participating in the world we will attract the soul mate of our dreams who will celebrate the journey.
