Why do women complain that you’re looking at their boobs instead of their face?
Because you are – at lweat if your male – and the girls have scientific proof to back them up.
Nearly half firs, 47 percent actually, t glance at a woman’s breasts and a third will first check out hips and waist.
Not only are breasts often the first thing men look at, they are checked out for longer than any other body par, claim researcher.
Only 20% will first check the face.
Women with larger chests and slim waists have higher levels of the female hormone oestrogen, indicating greater fertility, explain evolutionary psychologists.
However researchers at the New Zealand’s University of Wellington simply suggest it could be because aesthetically pleasing, regardless of the size.
Six digitally reconstructed images of the same woman with different bust, waist and hips sizes were shown to men.
The areas men glanced at first, the number of times looked, and how long their gaze lasted was recorded using cameras measuring minute eye movements.
“Eighty per cent of first fixations were on the breasts and midriff. Men spent consistently more time looking at the breasts and also made significantly more fixations upon them than other regions,” the study concluded.
Men began to gaze at the “components of the hourglass figure” within 0.2 seconds.
Before we attack the men too harshly, other research shows women find similar optimally attractive female bodies as attention-grabbing, albeit for different reasons.
Women size up other women in an effort to determine their own relative attractiveness and to keeptheir mate away from optimally designed ‘hourglass’ females
just for the record, a few male glances were directed at the arms, lower legs and feet. Just not that many.
