Identity theft is a huge problem. I am also a victim. i was lucky. The person who stole my identity was found and arrested. It still cost me hours and hours of time and lots of frustration. I'm very glad I kept good records because I had to prove where I lived during a certain period of time. Filing a police report was very important and even though I had address information for where the phony accounts were linked to, it still took several months before i found out someone was arrested.
