You want to drive up her curiosity, get her to laugh and have fun around you.

The truth is, she will probably screen her calls, she may check her voice mail, but she WILL read her messages.

So how can use text message to get that girl?

1. All ways call her by a nick name – Doll Face,  Honey, don’t be formal
2. DON’T use abbreviations. Use the spell checker and appear articulate. Be a cut above the rest.
3. Use emoticons to highlight when you are teasing or using banter. Nothing flash, The smiley (a colon  : and right bracket ) ) is all you need.
4. Use complete sensory descriptions.

If she asks ‘how ru?” don’t reply ‘great’ – That’s lame.

Try “I’m at the Waldorf. Having a great time. You should be here.”

5. Save your text as a draft. Hold off for a minute and then reread it. You will be surprised how often a rushed reply sounds needy. Sometimes changing or removing one word is all that is needed. Then send it.
6. Show some class – No swearing.
7. Use punctuation to create emphasis. There is no natural emphasis in messaging, you have to create your own to make your point stand out.
8. Be the last person to write in a messaging exchange.  End a post with a question to get her to reply. Or if you use a statement fade it out and let her wonder where you got too.
9. Use text messaging sparingly.

A Voice call or face to face is better. However, most girls screen their calls.

This is where you use technology to your advantage. Send a text. If she replies, you know she is near her phone, so ring her.

If she doesnt pick up, you know she is playing games.

Move on to someone else.

Online dating is not a competition between competing males for a womans attention.

Grow up.

Change your mind set from “winning” to “searching”.  This isn’t high school.  You are all grown up and have been for quite some time, now.

Your attitude is the most important asset you have.  You should like yourself and not concentrate of all of the things that aren’t YOUR idea of the perfect guy…the one the all women want.

What is that women want, you ask?  That’s the age old question.  Being of the female persuasion myself, I can tell you a few things women want and don’t want.

Women want a man to be confident…NOT an arrogant jerk.  There’s a big difference.

You need to like yourself and not be self depreciating but you don’t need to come across like you believe that you are a gift to them from God and have just fallen from the sky.

They don’t want you to think that THEY just fell from heaven and are some kind of perfect being, either.  They can’t live up to that expectation.

Women want a communicator. The “strong silent type” really isn’t appealing at all.

They think you probably don’t have an original thought in your head and you probably haven’t heard a word they said, either or that you just don’t care what they said or didn’t even hear what they said.

They want you to be interesting enough to be worth getting to know better. They also want you to think that they are interesting enough to ask intelligent questions about what they think is important too.

Women do NOT want to be a prize to be won.  They don’t want to be your trophy. They want to be the ONE woman that you want to be with.

We have taken to online dating like a duck takes to water…because it works…or, at least, it can work.

With all the social media sites out there, one has taken the world by storm: Facebook. And it only comes naturally that guys will want to leverage this new tool to meet women.

It’s not too hard to meet women on Facebook, but you have to do it with some understanding of how to play the game. Because there are many ways to do it wrong, and only a few to do it right…

I’ve been eyeing this method to meeting women for some time, and I agree completely. It IS a mega-mega opportunity to meet women…

…if it’s handled right.

First of all, let’s remember the catastrophe that is “MySpace.” (May it rest in peace.) That social network has been so polluted and abused that it’s really not useful anymore. I know I don’t take it seriously.

What happened there?

Well, first of all, everyone got slammed with spam. A few clever programmers and bulk friend programs, and suddenly you had MySpace pages that looked like web sites from the year 1998.

Cheap backgrounds, silly wallpaper, and everybody’s page looked like a 14-year-old girl’s bedroom, complete with Britney Spears posters.

Enter Facebook.

A whole lot classier than its trailer-park cousin, Facebook has maintained a better image. But with a bunch of cool toys and add-ons that made it interesting and more fun.

So how can you work this great social networking tool to help you with your dating life – while not looking like some pervert who got kicked out of the alleys of MySpace?

I’ll give you a very simple 4-step model to use. This is the one that my friends and I have used consistently to get results online.

STEP 1: Connect with the guys – and other women – who have a lot of cute girl friends.

In other words, connect with people that YOU are not interested in dating who have big networks.

You must be very indirect at first using Facebook.

Remember the lesson from MySpace – Don’t be a spammer!

This is not “match.com” or an online dating site, so don’t just start sending out invites and emails hoping to score based on numbers. We’ve come to hate the abusers, and you’ll just get your sorry ass kicked right off.

Start out with light connections. Think “friends first.”

Don’t make your Facebook profile look like you’re trying to meet women. Be subtle.

What you’re trying to do is multiply your results and increase your connection potential by meeting more people who know more people.

If you just start trying to hit on the women you’re interested in right off the bat, you’ll be limiting your results with shortsighted thinking.

Think out to the LONG term. The more cool people you connect with and forge relationships with, the more likely you are to connect with a woman naturally.

STEP 2: Connect with women you are interested in VERY indirectly.

What you have to do is send a simple friend request – and make sure you include a message with it!

You just say something like, “Hey, I saw we’re both friends with Greg… Then I noticed you’re a snowboarder, too… Ever go to Tahoe?”

You see what I did there? I left a question INSIDE my friend request. For her to answer it, she’s going to feel compelled to add me.

It’s also just something people are looking to do. Let’s face it, we all measure our social success by how many people we’ve got as friends on Facebook. We all want a HUGE network, so women will WANT to add you – if only to increase their friend count.

STEP 3: Start leveraging the tools.

Facebook has a huge amount of potential for the guy who wants to take advantage of them. You can add all kinds of cute little applications to send virtual drinks to friends, send goofy gifts, or even start your own polls and surveys.

But one of the best tools you need to be using is the GROUP function on Facebook.

In fact, in preparing for this article, I created a group to start connecting you guys together and enabling men to share information.

You can do this, too. Just create a group based on your passion and your local area.

I’m going to advise you to avoid starting a group based on “Warcraft” or on the latest hot actress.

Make your group something a woman can relate to and might be interested in. Maybe it’s the television show “Lost…” or maybe it’s about all things Italian.

Ba-da-bing! Now you’ve got a hook to use to invite her into your group.

STEP 4: Start escalating and creating more opportunities.

Remember, this is a VIRTUAL tool. It’s online.

In other words, your connections don’t REALLY exist anywhere except on some server in an air-conditioned room in a data center somewhere.

It’s up to YOU to bring these connections to life with events that you can invite people to.

Most people will stroll around this virtual network, but then never take it into the REAL world. That’s where YOU come in.

Maybe once a month you should organize a happy hour at your local favorite bar. Or maybe you make a Facebook group for wine tasters, and then every other Friday you meet up and go tasting the latest Pinot Noirs.

THAT is your opportunity to start looking for romantic potential in the groups. You have to remember that you can’t be a Facebook “pickup artist” and try to attract women online.

You have to build a network, forge some connections, and meet women in person to start creating the attraction.

That being said, you can also send out some playful introductions to women you don’t know and see if they bite. (Just make sure your profile has enough interesting bait for them to nibble at…)

- Write on people’s walls…

- Send a few virtual drinks…

- Send some good karma…

- Use the “Flirtable” app…

For the man with initiative, the Facebook world is yours.

So step up and start creating the social network, then start meeting the women in it.

Sure we all know that we are biologically programmed by physical attraction – especially at first.

The philosopher Emerson said once we find the limits to a person we lose interest.

I think if that limit is found to be false we crucify them!

Researchers at UC Berkeley decided to test what online daters valued in a potential date.

Once users actually met face-to-face, physical appearance was the least important predictor of how long the relationship lasted they found.

The research released at the 2010 Society for Personality and Social Psychology Annual Conference in Las Vegas analyzed the photo, free response description and multiple choice descriptions of both men and women.

Participants of the study viewed the online profiles whole and in their component parts and rated them on attractiveness. For both genders a photo was necessary for a profile to be viewed as attractive reports eHarmony.

What was surprising was that women was that a photo of attractive men was the only thing needed for a profile to be described attractive.

The men were pickier. They needed to feel that at least one other section of the profile was also ‘attractive.’

Now before you start editing your pictures in photoshop getting and keeping the date is a little more complicated.

The photo may be the initial attraction, it seems that in the search for the important qualities of warmth, kindness, and trustworthiness daters carefully check out the description and content of the profile.

What really counted, they found, was a feeling of an overall attraction that they had really been able to “get to know” their date.

Combing through the data eHarmony concluded “When online dating, post your best photo, but remember to spend some time (and spell check) on that profile!  Lastly, how you behave on the date will be far more important than anything that came before it.”

Should we be surprised?

Relatioship expert Rori Raye, author of Have the Relationship you Want,  explains that trying to be the martest woman on the planet, the sexiest woman on the planet, the funniest and cleverest woman on the planet, and the most patient and understanding will only drive a man away.

As excellent as the system is what can you do to take charge ofyour online security?

Others have taken the guess work out of dating and used computerization to find your perfect match.

Guard Your Anonymity

“Never include your last name, real email address, personal Web site URL, home address, phone number, place of work or any other identifying information in your profile or initial emails you exchange with other members” says RSVP Australia.

Turn off your signature file and senders name details.

• Evaluate the sites  settings – Take advantage of a site’s privacy settings. Customize your settings to restrict access to only certain people. However, there is a this private information could berevealed, so don’t post anything that you wouldn’t want the public to see.
• Be cautious when deciding which applications you enable. Check your settingsto restrict what information the applications can access.
• Use strong passwords -  If your password is compromised, someone else may be able to access your account and pretend to be you. They m,ay even be able to hijack youremaiol account andsend spam in your name.
• Check privacy policies – Some sites may share information such as email addresses or user preferences with other companies. This may lead to an increase in spam (see Reducing Spam for more information). Also, try to locate the policy for handling referrals to make sure that you do not unintentionally sign your friends up for spam. Some sites will continue to send email messages to anyone you refer until they join.
• Use and maintain anti-virus software – and keep it up to date.

Keep your personal details private

Limit the amount of personal information you post such as your schedule and routine.

Remember that the internet is a public resource –so only reveal information you are comfortable seeing in public. Also consider that photos of your friends you post online become public as well.

The internet makes it easy for people to misrepresent their identities and motives.

So do not give any contact information to someone until you feel comfortable with them. Be cautious and selective. Ask questions and do not proceed further until you are satisfied with their answers.

Don’t believe everything you read online. People may post false or misleading information sometimes it’s a joke. It may be because they a re cautious to protect their own privacy.

It is not necessarily done with malicious intent, or could be an exaggeration

“Don’t give out your surname, phone numbers or address details to anyone over the Internet until you feel safe to do so” said RSVP. “If you choose to share your personal email address with another member it is strongly recommended you create a new email address with Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail or another free email service provider just for this purpose.”

Do not use your surname in the sender’s name.

Also  avoid using work emails because  rachel.smith@abccompany.com.au is usually easier for criminals to identify. Mobile numbers are safer to use for phone contact.

Meet When YOU Are Ready

“The beauty of meeting and communicating online is that you can gradually collect information and then make a choice about pursuing the relationship in the real world” said RSVP.

“ You are never obligated to meet anyone – regardless of your level of online intimacy. And even if you do decide to arrange a meeting you always have the right to change your mind. It’s possible that your decision to keep the relation”

However, online relationships easily mix our own false perceptions with very little online information.

If you are not careful the feeling of anonymity that the net gives may trick you to reveal more than you intended.

Talk on the Phone

Use the phone to bridge from online to  a face-to-face meeting. The telephone allows you to detect a lot about people by their telephone  mannerisms. Use a mobile phone number for added security.

Choose a Safe Place

If you decide to meet face-to-face, choose a familiar safe location, full of people.

Day light may be best at first, as most predators will avoid acting in broad daylight and surrounded by people.

“Always arrange to meet in a busy public place – and arrive and leave on your own, using your own transport” said RSVP . “Avoid hikes, bike rides or drives in remote areas for the first few dates. If you decide to move to another location then take your own car.”

Initially, do not accept lifts.

Take a friend along

You may prefer to take a friend who may stay at a safe protective distance.  Another option is to is to tell a friend where you’re are going – ring them before you go and when you return – and stick to it.

Trust your instincts

If you feel uneasy with someone trust your instincts, its better to be wrong that hurt and sorry. If someone pressures you when decide to leave an uncomfortable situation , then do you really want them as a date?

Don’t get financially involved

Never send anyone money or offer financial assistance to someone you have just started contact with.

If you think there is a genuine problem then get it investigated in your behalf first.

Besides protecting yourself physically and emotionally how can you avoid outright scams?

Scam Alert Signals

• Mention of being in some form of financial difficulty or needing financial assistance.
• Within days or weeks the other person says that they are totally in love with you despite never having met. The emails may also be long and romantic tell you nothing about the person.
• Photos that are ‘Too good to be true’.
• Are they young and good looking or out of your specified age requirements?
• Questions you ask come back unanswered.
• Be cautious If they are from overseas and claim their friends met someone online from your country and hey want to do the same.
  • Be cautious  of emails using  words like structure and marriage agency.
• Excessive use of words such as:-
  • I have
  • I hope
  • I want
• The emails talk about Russian men being alcoholics and not knowing how to treat women.
• “Never send money. If they cannot afford a plane ticket and you want to take the risk, tell them you will organize and pay for the ticket and arrange for where they can pick the ticket up from” said RSVP.

Scam Prevention Strategies:

Although RSVP adds  “we would however not recommend paying for a ticket when you’ve not met before.”

• Never mention your financial status. Keep the topics to things like your hobbies, sports or what your plans are for the future.
• If you wish to meet the person then you be the one to visit them.
• Ask for details such as where they live, their mailing address and contact numbers. Attempting to send a small gift like flowers can help to identify if the address provided is legitimate or not.

If you feel a member of a dating site is a scammer, then contactthedating site you are using to protect other members.

Don’t tell her she’s a knock out

She may look like Jessica Alba or Jennifer Hawkins, and every second email from some guy is likely telling her that too.
Sure girls like to be told there beautiful –especially by someone they know. How can a complement be sincere if you really don’t know a person? The best compliments come when they are not expected, or when everyone else is doing them.
Avoid stupid platitudes or boring introductions like “Hi. How are you?”.

Base your email around a common interest you both share

This shows that you took the time to read his profile properly

Contrast that with “tell me about yourself” “and “What is your favorite color?” Boring questions kill an email. If you check out his profile properly the chances are that is already covered anyway.
Personalize the email .  A cut and paste email telling them “it looks like we have common interests’ won’t cut it. It shows you don’t value him as a unique individual.
Don’t get hung up about sounding fabulous. Write about the common interests mentioned in her profile and invite them to check your profile.

Keep it short

Sending an email that’s longer than a paragraph is a waste of time: both yours and your match’s.
Remember, this person does not know you, so don’t expect them to want to read a massive monologue. Long emails are great from close friends – not strangers.
Keeping it short does not mean cutting the blurb from your profile. If you have nothing extra to offer on your profile you appear shallow. People want to see if you are a person of substance.

Your purpose is to create a great first impression and get the person to check your profile. So write in the same way that you speak.
I know many of us have learned the formal business writing style of the past. However, few realize that that was once how people spoke (check out the book Moby Dick and you see the formal speech of captain Ahab!)

End with a confident no pressure chance to your profile

There are cyber criminals out there fishing for emails so don’t plead for an email or phone number.
If you go for the trouble of developing a shared interest, your initiative is likely to at least get a look-in.
